Fairfax County police are renewing their call for public assistance in locating Javon Antonio Reid, 34, who is wanted in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on May 2023, in Bailey's Crossroads.

The incident took place around 2:19 a.m. on May 7 last year in the parking lot of Build America Plaza, located in the 3800 block of South George Mason Drive, according to police.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting and found two adult men with gunshot wounds to the upper body.

Both were transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, where one, 24-year-old District resident Maurice Anderson succumbed to his injuries.

Detectives from the Major Crimes Bureau determined that an argument in the parking lot escalated, leading to Reid allegedly discharging multiple rounds, striking both men.

Reid was seen entering a vehicle and leaving the scene before police arrived.

Despite extensive efforts, Reid remains at large as of Thursday, Nov. 21.

He has been charged with second-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Authorities have released images of Reid and are urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward by contacting detectives by calling (703) 246-7800.
